Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, born in Wellington,) is the name of a Canadian actor from Canada. Paquin was born in Winnipeg, raised in Wellington and made her debut as Flora McGrath when she played the role as Flora in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 to be the Best supporting Actress. In response to an audition, Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish piano player. Flora McGrath is the child of a mute Scottish musician who moved into New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. When she was a teenager the family relocated from Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin was played as the title child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. She also played a leading part as a lead character in Fly Away Home, a film from the same year. Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character in Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 her character was the queen of Spain in a smaller character. She portrayed teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) and A Walk on the Moon (2000). She played groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
