Paula Patton (born in 1960) is an American actor. She has also directed films, including Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Growing up in Los Angeles with a middle-class mother, she had lots of dreams. Her mom was a film buff and encouraged a love of films in the young girl too. Paula became involved in many activities at school that were co-curricular and had an interest in drama. She played with her classmates and took part in the school's productions. Hamilton Magnet Arts High School staged a variety of plays, and the actor decided that acting was her chosen career. She attended an acting program at the University of Southern California for the Summer Program, and she loved it. The program was awarded to her by PBS to make documentaries for 3 months. When she finished the three-month assignment successfully the first task was in the field of production of television documentaries. Next, she was going to begin producing documentaries. She loved her work however, she always wanted to be an actor. Her first acting gig came with a small role in the romantic comedy of Will Smith Hitch. Since then, she's appeared in many films and television shows.
